14th Annual Investors' Reception and 2009-2014 Refunding Kickoff

Please mark your calendar! The Greater Richmond Partnership, Inc.'s 14 th Annual Investors' Reception and 2009-2014 Refunding Campaign Kickoff is scheduled for October 7th at 6:00 PM at the State Capitol of Virginia . The Honorable Eric Cantor, Member, United States House of Representatives will be the event's keynote speaker.Gail Letts and Robert Ukrop, Campaign Co-Chairs, along with Kim Scheeler, President of the Greater Richmond Chamber and Gregory Wingfield, President and CEO of the Greater Richmond Partnership will present the three aspects of the campaign: The Challenge, The Plan and the Call to Action. During this event we will publicly announce current status of the campaign and encourage others to step forward with their support.

The Development Council Membership is complete. Response to a recent mailing is complete resulting in strong support for the 2009-2014 economic development work program. With our present experience of a softened economy, the community recognizes it is that much more important to support the key organizations helping promote economic development and spur the economy.The number of businesses locating to the region, the low unemployment rate, the region's diverse industries and the growth of existing businesses has helped to make Greater Richmond appear to be recession proof.

Campaign Leadership will have their first meeting on September 24 th at 8:00 AM. The meeting will be held at the Greater Richmond Partnership Board Room. The leadership will be briefed on the status of the campaign and begin discussions on how to insure that the campaign will be a success.We have a strong leadership group that has a broad representation of the Greater Richmond community.
