• Place 50 positive media messages about the region in national and/or international publications.
Business Retention and Expansion (Business First Greater Richmond)
• 2,500 interviews.
• 500 companies assisted.
• 7,500 jobs created.
• $250 million in new investment.
Business Formation and Support for Small Business and Entrepreneurs
(Small Business Development Center)
• Encourage venture capital funding of 15 “gazelle” small businesses.
• Support 1000 small businesses with global commerce assistance.
• Assist in the expansion of 800 existing companies.
• Assist 200 Virginia Department of Transportation Business Opportunity and Workforce Development Center (VDOT-BOWD) business clients.
• Provide counseling to 3,000 small businesses, train 15,000 business owners/executives and provide information assistance to 40,000 existing and prospective business owners that result in the retention of 2,000 jobs and the creation of 1,250 new jobs.
• Stimulate $35 million in new capital investment.
• Stimulate $35 million in new sales revenue.
